Leading South Korean TV Channel highlights tourism potential of Uzbekistan

One of South Korea’s leading television channels, “EBS”, has aired a special program dedicated to the tourism opportunities of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA.

In the popular tourist program “Journey along the Great Silk Road”, South Korean viewers were briefed on the potential of eco-tourism, culinary, pilgrimage, mountain and landscape tourism in Uzbekistan.

“EBS” filming crew, which visited Uzbekistan, presented the country’s famous tourist destinations, ancient architectural monuments of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Tashkent inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, modern entertainment centers, national crafts, and Uzbek cuisine, as well as natural attractions.

Particular attention in the program was paid to the convenience of traveling across the country. In particular, it was noted that from Tashkent, historical cities can be reached by the “Afrosiyob” high-speed train, which runs along the routes of the Great Silk Road. Program emphasizes that the train reaches speeds of up to 230 km/h and covers the distance of about 600 kilometers from Tashkent to Bukhara in 3 hours and 40 minutes.

Samarkand and Bukhara were presented as important cultural centers of Central Asia. The program also provided detailed coverage of historical monuments, traditions, national cuisine, crafts, and natural landscapes of various regions of Uzbekistan.

Creators of the program paid special attention to the hospitality of the Uzbek people, noting the warm and sincere attitude of local residents towards tourists.

Extensive coverage of the historical and cultural heritage, nature, national cuisine, hospitality, and modern tourism infrastructure of Uzbekistan on the “EBS” television channel will contribute to increasing the country's attractiveness in the tourism market of South Korea.
