Consul General of Uzbekistan in Jeddah Sirojiddin Shamsutdinov, held a meeting with the Governor of the Madinah Region, Prince Salman bin Sultan Al Saud, reports Dunyo IA.

During the conversation, issues of further strengthening interregional cooperation in trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and tourism spheres were discussed.

Saudi side noted the progressive development of friendly relations between the two countries and positively assessed the activities of Uzbek entrepreneurs participating in the implementation of construction projects in Medina, as well as developing businesses in industry and the catering sector.

Special attention was paid to the development of pilgrimage tourism, the creation of favourable conditions for citizens of Uzbekistan visiting Medina, including those performing Umrah and Ziyarah, as well as the implementation of mutually beneficial projects.

Prince Salman bin Sultan expressed interest in further expanding cooperation and readiness to support initiatives aimed at strengthening trade, economic and cultural ties with Uzbekistan.
