“Travelbook” recommends Tashkent as a Must-Visit Destination for Tourists

Popular German online travel and tourism magazine “Travelbook” has published an article entitled “Why a Visit to Tashkent Is Absolutely Worthwhile”, reports Dunyo IA.

Author, journalist Lena Braun, presents the capital, Tashkent, as a unique city where ancient Eastern traditions, modern architecture, national cuisine and a distinctive way of life blend harmoniously.

Particular attention in the article is devoted to the capital’s modernist architecture. It notes that the inclusion of ten architectural sites in Tashkent on the UNESCO World Heritage List in July 2026 marked an important milestone in the international recognition of the city’s architectural heritage. The State Museum of the History of Uzbekistan is cited as a striking example of the combination of modernism and national traditions.

Author also introduces readers to the capital’s religious and historical landmarks, including the Hazrati Imam Complex, Kukeldash Madrasah and the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, which opened in March 2026.

Separate sections are devoted to the Tashkent Metro, which the journalist compares to an underground art gallery, the famous Chorsu Bazaar, national cuisine and gastronomic traditions. The Mirabad Bazaar and “Besh Qozon” Plov Centre are also among the tourist attractions recommended in the article.

Publication also highlights the modern amenities of the capital, including “Tashkent City” Park, musical fountains, restaurants offering panoramic views and a variety of cultural leisure venues.

In addition, Tashkent is presented as a convenient starting point for travelling around Uzbekistan and Central Asia. Thanks to the “Afrosiyob” high-speed trains, tourists can quickly reach Samarkand, Bukhara and other historic cities across the country.

In conclusion, the author emphasizes that Tashkent’s main appeal lies in its harmonious blend of different historical eras, cultures and architectural styles.

It is noteworthy that on 19 October 2026, “Travelbook” also included Tashkent among its promising travel destinations for 2027.
