The role of women in Islam

The role of women in Islam

All women have rights just like men. For example, they can work, travel, and study. Islam also emphasizes the rights of women. We can see this in the lives of Sahabi women. Hadicha (r.a), Aisha (r.a), Fatima (r.a) and others can be role models for us. Women cannot be forced to do anything.

Woman is a mother. It is narrated from Talha bin Muawiya Sulami, may Allah be pleased with him: "O Messenger of Allah! I intend to fight in the way of Allah". The Messenger of God, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “Is your mother alive?” I said: "Yes". The Prophet said: “Take care of your mother’s feet (always be in her service), because paradise is there" (Narration of Imam Tirmidhi).

Many men don’t support the work or studies of women. This is true, but we need women in certain jobs. For example, many women prefer to go to female doctors, and men often want this too.

An article by Tarek Yusef Al-Shumaymiri, former Secretary-General of the Commercial Arbitration Center of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, has been published in leading Kuwaiti media outlets, including “Al-Seyassah”, “Alwakt News” and “The Times Kuwait”, reports Dunyo IA.

Author, who personally participated in the International Media Forum “Islamic Civilization: A New Perspective - New Discoveries” in Tashkent, highly praised the historical and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, particularly that of Samarkand and Tashkent.

Article highlights historical parallels between Samarkand and Kuwait’s historic Failaka Island, as well as shared values of the Uzbek and Kuwaiti peoples, including hospitality, trading traditions and respect for knowledge.

Tarek Yusef Al-Shumaymiri also emphasized the development of bilateral relations following the state visit of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the State of Kuwait on February 17–18th, 2025 and their advancement to the level of comprehensive partnership.

According to the author, historical and cultural heritage provides a foundation for further developing ties, while transport, investment, education and culture can give a new impetus to Uzbek-Kuwaiti cooperation.
